Dataweavers - Spirit Super

For Spirit Super, ensuring a smooth and efficient digital experience was vital in delivering exceptional service to its members—especially following the merger of MTAA Super and Tasplan in 2021. The union of these organizations created a unique opportunity to reassess and optimize digital operations to support future growth.

The Challenge

The decision to upgrade: Upgrading Sitecore came with complex choices from hiring agencies to trying to roll this project out internally. Each path presented risks, costs, and fragmentation. Spirit Super needed a simple, unified solution—leading them to seek alternative options that could meet their requirements.

Post-Merger Complexity: With the merger came a more complex digital landscape. Spirit Super’s team recognized the need to unify systems, improve governance, and create an environment where digital teams could move faster and more confidently.

Operational Bottlenecks: Despite having a capable internal IT team, delays were common due to external dependencies and unclear responsibilities across infrastructure and application layers. Long development timelines and collaboration challenges across teams limited their ability to deliver change efficiently.

Room for Growth: Rather than viewing these challenges as setbacks, Spirit Super embraced the opportunity to modernize their digital delivery. Their team was eager to evolve DevOps processes, enhance infrastructure visibility, and take greater ownership of Sitecore to drive value across the business.
